Scottsdale, Arizona, United States: BoardRoom magazine has named Troon Management Company of the Year for 2025 in the publication’s annual Excellence in Achievement awards – the 12th consecutive year Troon has received this distinction.

In addition, BoardRoom also recognised Troon Company RealFood Hospitality, Strategy & Design as the Food Service Strategic Planning Company of the Year for the fourth consecutive year.

The BoardRoom magazine Excellence in Achievement awards are the private club industry’s only awards recognising the clubs’ business partners.

BoardRoom magazine’s industry peers review and select outstanding suppliers and consultants, which represent various aspects of course and club operations. Each year, honorees are chosen for excellence, innovation, achievement, vision for future growth, and on-going impact on private club operations.

“This recognition by BoardRoom is a credit to the hard work and dedication of our 35,000-plus associates,” said Troon President and CEO Tim Schantz. “Thank you to BoardRoom magazine and our industry peers for this tremendous honour.”

Last year saw Troon celebrate its 35th anniversary. Founded in 1990 at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale and brought to life by the vision of Dana Garmany, along with Ron Despain and Jeff Spangler, what began as a bold idea has grown into the world’s largest golf and golf-related hospitality management company, supporting 950-plus locations worldwide.

While golf remains at the core of Troon’s business, the company’s services now extend far beyond fairways and greens. Troon provides expert management across racquet sports, aquatics, fitness, food and beverage, lodging, homeowner associations, and more. The original founders – Garmany, Despain, and Spangler – continue to play integral roles in Troon’s success, while a team of more than 35,000 passionate Associates are united by one shared mission: delivering best-in-class service to customers, guests, members and partners.

From private clubs like Belfair in South Carolina, PGA Tour venues such as Black Desert in Utah and top 100 destinations like Gamble Sands in Washington to packed pickleball courts in Florida and dining rooms around the world, you’ll find the same commitment to excellence. That desire to deliver excellent service extends to Troon Events, the company’s luxury travel experiences and tournaments division.

In 2025, experiential events included the Crystal Cup, an exclusive new multi-stage golf tournament blending world-class travel with exceptional golf and an exciting finale at Sea Island Golf Resort in Georgia, and the TaylorMade Troon Invitational at Pebble Beach, a six-day, five-night event featuring four rounds of golf (Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay and Spyglass), numerous hospitality and dining events, and luxury accommodation at the Inn at Spanish Bay.

Troon Privé, the company’s private club operations division, continued to grow organically in 2025. Private clubs joining the Troon Privé portfolio in 2025, included Cobblestone Creek Country Club in New York; Three Bridges Club in Utah; and The Club at Crested Butte in Colorado. In total, Troon added 50-plus new management and services agreements in the last year.

With locations in 45-plus states and 40-plus countries, Troon is the world’s largest golf and golf-related hospitality management company.
