Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: SmartScore Global, one of golf’s most dynamic and fastest-growing companies, has pledged to continue building better experiences for the global golf community.

In recognition of its remarkable rise, SmartScore was bestowed with the Excellence in Innovation accolade at the 2025 Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Awards.

Chief Executive Officer Yeom In-wook, who was present in Kuala Lumpur to collect the award on behalf of the Korean company, said: “We’re thrilled to receive this prestigious recognition.

“This award means a lot to all of us, not just as recognition, but as motivation to keep building better experiences for the global golf community. And this is only the beginning.

“We’re now preparing to take things further, bringing together golf, tourism, and digital innovation to help international golf clubs grow in new ways.

“We’re grateful to our amazing team, partners, and every golf course that believed in us. Let’s keep driving the future of golf together!”

The AGIF Award recognised SmartScore’s leading role in driving digital transformation and golf-tech innovation across Asia.

Yeom said: “Over the past few years, SmartScore has evolved from a simple scoring platform into a comprehensive golf eco-system – connecting golfers, golf courses and data-driven operations through smart solutions like GPS-based cart management, golf course ERP and operation systems and AI analytics that enhance player experience and course efficiency.

“In just two years since our full-scale global expansion, SmartScore Global has grown explosively in Asia, now powering digital innovation across more than 100 golf courses outside Korea and serving 15,000 global golfers to enjoy the round of golf every single day.

“It’s been an incredible journey, seeing our technology transform how golfers play and how golf courses operate, from Thailand and Vietnam to Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan and beyond.

“As we continue to expand across Asia, North America, and Europe, our mission stays the same: make golf smarter, more connected, and more enjoyable for everyone.”

Coinciding with the three-day AGIF Annual International Summit, the AGIF Awards Gala Dinner recognised excellence, innovation, and leadership in the Asian golf industry.

Gold sponsors of the 2025 AGIF Annual International Summit were The R&A, Club Car and Trojan Battery Company with Centaur Asia Pacific and Jebsen & Jessen as Silver sponsors. Tourism Malaysia was the Event Partner and Sime Darby Convention Centre the Venue Partner.

The Malaysian Association of Golf Recreational Club Owners, the Golf Course Superintendents’ Association of Malaysia and the Golf Club Managers Association of Malaysia were Supporting Partners.
