Singapore: Jebsen & Jessen Technology – Turf & Irrigation, a division of the technology business unit of diversified industrial conglomerate Jebsen & Jessen Group, has been awarded a five-year contract to supply equipment, resources and expertise for the newly renovated 18-hole The Island Course at The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC).

Jebsen & Jessen Technology – Turf & Irrigation will partner with Troon International, Toro, and Eng Swee Thye Engineering to deliver comprehensive maintenance and improvement of the 18-hole The Island Course, including the Rotunda practice putting greens at the club’s Island location.

This multi-partner, integrated approach will provide the latest turf maintenance equipment and irrigation systems, and expertise in golf course management and maintenance services.

The newly redesigned The Island Course, expertly crafted by the renowned golf course design company, Nelson & Haworth Golf Course Architects, stays true to its roots of 1920s-1930s-style golf courses, while being refined to elevate the playing experience of members and guests.

Meticulously designed for golfers, the addition of sand capping, a modern irrigation system, along with improved grass species, improves the drainage, playing and walking conditions, which allows for an elevated playing experience for all SICC members and guests.

Amidst Singapore’s increasingly constrained golf landscape with the reallocation of land use for national priorities, SICC remains committed to providing a premium golf course and services for the golfing community.

This multi-partner collaboration positions Jebsen & Jessen Technology – Turf & Irrigation and its partners to set new benchmarks for golf course management, proactively adapting to and meeting evolving golfer demands and expectations. Leveraging its long-standing relationships with trusted partners and drawing on extensive industry expertise, Jebsen & Jessen Technology – Turf & Irrigation will provide a holistic suite of solutions, including:

  • A full range of Toro turf maintenance equipment and irrigation systems, supported by regional after-sales service.
  • Golf course maintenance expertise through Troon International, a global leader in agronomy and course operations.
  • Skilled manpower solutions through Eng Swee Thye Engineering, specialists in golf course and landscape services.

“This contract marks a significant milestone for us and reflects our commitment to delivering excellence in golf course management,” said Philipp Hoffmann, Managing Director, Jebsen & Jessen Technology – Turf & Irrigation. “Leveraging our local expertise to provide tailored solutions and world-class service support, and collaborating closely with our trusted partners, we look forward to supporting SICC in enhancing the playability and prestige of The Island Course.”

Ian Roberts, General Manager of SICC, added: “The Island Course redevelopment represents SICC’s vision for the future of golf – one rooted in tradition yet driven by innovation and sustainability. With Jebsen & Jessen Technology and their consortium of global partners on-board, we are confident that The Island Course will deliver an exceptional playing experience for our members and uphold SICC’s standing as one of the premier golf clubs in the region.”

The partnership offers SICC priority access to new technologies, international agronomy advisory services, global procurement benefits, and environmental management programmes, positioning The Island Course among premier golfing destinations in the region.
