Hong Kong SAR, China: Hong Kong Golf Club (HKGC) Captain Andy Kwok has confirmed that the historic Fanling venue has extended its agreement to host the LIV Golf League.
Kwok said: “As the oldest golf club in China, we are delighted to be playing a role in bringing LIV Golf and the excitement that means to the region, developing the game and putting Hong Kong firmly on the global sporting map. We have agreed on a longer-term partnership with LIV Golf League to host the event for at least two years in Hong Kong in 2026 and 2027
“The first two editions (2024 and 2025) of LIV Golf Hong Kong were incredibly successful with record numbers of fans travelling to the city from the Greater Bay Area and far beyond. We look forward to welcoming back the world’s best players for first-class golf and entertainment.
“But not only that. LIV Golf’s community-focused endeavours – their commitment to giving back to society, to make a difference at every venue they visit – is just as important and something we are thrilled to work together on.”
LIV Golf said the event will be further elevated following a landmark title partnership with HSBC.
This agreement makes HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong the first title-sponsored tournament in league history, marking a significant milestone since LIV Golf launched as the Invitational Series in 2022 and transitioned to a full-season League in 2023. This exclusive event sponsorship is part of the global, multi-year partnership that the brands announced earlier this year, when HSBC became LIV Golf’s first global banking and financial organisation partner.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil said: “Hong Kong welcomed LIV Golf with extraordinary enthusiasm from the very beginning, and we are proud to return to this special city and course to deliver another unforgettable experience and week for fans, players, and partners.
“Partnering with HSBC elevates this marquee event to new levels and highlights our shared values of innovation, accessibility, and global impact. Once again, Hong Kong Golf Club will provide a world-class stage for our elite players and teams to compete, and the opportunity for LIV Golf and HSBC to drive meaningful impact together.”
Barry O’Byrne, HSBC’s CEO of International Wealth and Premier Banking, said: “We are thrilled to be the title sponsor of this ground-breaking tournament, which is rapidly building a passionate fan base and expanding the sport’s appeal. For 160 years, HSBC has been connecting Hong Kong to the world, and the world to Hong Kong, and we bring this same philosophy to our sponsorships. The LIV Golf multi-year partnership not only reflects our commitment to advancing Hong Kong’s presence on the global stage but also enables us to create exclusive experiences for our clients.”
As part of HSBC and LIV Golf’s commitment to growing the game and making golf more accessible, HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong will feature several activations throughout event week that engage the local community. Additionally, in the coming months, a special pre-sale will be available to HSBC customers worldwide.
HKGC, one of Asia’s oldest and most revered golfing venues, provides a picturesque and challenging stage. The 2026 event will feature LIV Golf’s signature fan village, live music performances, interactive experiences, and enhanced viewing platforms creating a high-energy weekend for golf enthusiasts and new audiences alike.
To be staged from March 6-8, the 2026 tournament in Hong Kong joins the line-up of confirmed global destinations for next year, including Riyadh (February 6-8), Adelaide (February 13-15), Singapore (March 13-15), South Africa (March 20-22), Mexico City (April 17-19), Virginia (May 8-10), Andalucia (June 5-7), Louisiana (June 26-28), the United Kingdom (July 24-26), and Indianapolis (August 20-23).
The HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong 2026 tournament will once again bring 54 of the league’s international stars to compete in simultaneous individual and team competition at the HKGC across three days of fan-fuelled action, fast-paced competition, live entertainment, and vibrant fan experiences in one of Asia’s most iconic cities.
The 2025 edition of the LIV Golf Hong Kong tournament saw a commanding performance from Fireballs GC, as Sergio Garcia captured the individual title and led his team to the top of the podium in the team competition. The win followed Abraham Ancer’s triumph in 2024, making it back-to-back individual victories at HKGC for Fireballs players.
