Hong Kong SAR, China: With the outstanding performances of New Zealand’s Cooper Moore and Thai Kritchanya Kaopattanaskul, the 2025 edition of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Junior Championship lived up to its tradition of identifying great champions.

One of the annual highlights on the APGC’s calendar of event, the Junior Championship has been a platform to fairway fame and fortune for dozens of players over the past decade, including Japan’s Keita Nakajima and Nasa Hataoka and Australians Harrison Crowe and Grace Kim.

Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony at the Hong Kong Golf Club, Nishi Yoshihiro, an APGC Board member and International Committee member of the Golf Association of Hong Kong, China, congratulated the class of 2025.

He said: “This championship is more than a competition – it’s a celebration of the future of golf, the spirit of international friendship and the values of determination and mutual respect.

“This championship has been a shining example of sportsmanship and continuous hard work – of winning with humility, competing with integrity … and losing with grace. These values are what makes golf more than a sport: a life-long teacher.

“I encourage each of you to carry forward the spirit of this event and continue striving for greatness, both on and off the course.

“You have set a benchmark of excellence and will inspire the next generation of golfers across the Asia-Pacific region.”

Yoshihiro also praised all those involved with the staging of the championship.

He said: “Our gratitude to the Golf Association of Hong Kong, China, headed by Danny Lai, and its dedicated staff, led by Dolla Chui, for their tireless efforts in organising this championship. Their commitment to excellence has been the key to the championship’s success.

“Heartfelt thanks also to the Hong Kong Golf Club and their exceptional team, led by Captain Andy Kwok and General Manager Ian Gardner.

“We appreciate also the referees and volunteers, led by Roy Lee and Terry Greene, who have generously given of their time and energy, and our sponsors, whose support makes events like this possible.”
