Bangkok, Thailand: Absolute Golf Services (AGS) has been appointed to manage Blue Canyon Country Club, located in the heart of Phuket’s tropical paradise.
AGS said the agreement signifies a milestone for the company, underscoring its standing as a leading provider of golf course management and consultancy across Asia.
“We are honoured to be entrusted with the management of Blue Canyon Country Club,” said James Shippey, Managing Director of Absolute Golf Services, an Associate Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
“This is a world-class facility with an unrivalled history. We are excited at the prospect to further elevate its operations, service standards, and international profile,” added Shippey.
Just 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport, Blue Canyon is home to two masterfully designed and award-winning championship layouts – Canyon Course and Lakes Course, both sculpted by Japanese architect Yoshikazu Kato.
Opened in 1991, the Canyon Course was named Thailand’s Best Golf Course at the 2024 World Golf Awards. The Lakes Course, unveiled in 1999, is a scenic and strategic layout that harmoniously integrates natural water features with lush tropical terrain.
Blue Canyon Country Club rose to prominence as a three-time host to the Johnnie Walker Classic, won by Greg Norman in 1994 and Tiger Woods in 1998.
It’s also staged various other European Tour and Asian Tour tournaments and is the official partner of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA). In March, it was the venue for the KLPGA’s 2025 season-opening event.
In addition to world-class golf, the club offers a wide range of premium amenities, including:
