Singapore: Singapore Golf Association (SGA) and Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that aims to further the growth of golf in Singapore and Vietnam through closer co-operation between both associations.

Under this MOU, collaborative efforts between SGA and VGA will be boosted in three key areas – joint retreats, training camps for high-performance players and friendly matches.

The retreats will serve as a platform for management and board members from both associations to share experiences, best practices, and strategies for the development of golf in Singapore and Vietnam.

Training camps, held in either Singapore or Vietnam, and conducted by elite coaches and experts from both countries, will focus on skill development, physical conditioning, and mental preparation for high-performance players.

Additionally, annual friendly matches, hosted alternately by SGA and VGA, will promote cultural exchanges and interactions among players in a friendly and supportive environment while fostering sportsmanship.

“We are very pleased with our newest partnership with VGA, as both associations share the same vision of fostering closer ties and further promoting golf between Singapore and Vietnam,” said Tan Chong Huat, President of SGA, an Associate Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“This partnership provides an ideal platform for the exchange of knowledge through interactions and attachments among management, board members, and players. We are confident this collaboration with VGA will bring mutual benefits to both associations and players on all fronts,” added Tan.

Bach Cuong Khang, Deputy Secretary of VGA and Chairman of the Vietnam Rules Committee, echoed Tan’s sentiments.

He said: “Apart from the sharing of insights on best practices, player development, and bonding, this MOU offers a valuable opportunity to deepen international ties between our two countries.

“We are confident it will benefit our players as well as the management and staff from both associations. We look forward to a rewarding partnership with SGA.”
