Smartscore Scales Chiang Mai Summit

Smartscore Chief Executive Officer Yeom In-wook (second left) shakes hands with Akkaraphong Jurangkool, Owner of Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club.

Chiang Mai, Thailand: In a landmark partnership, Smartscore, an industry leader in GPS tracking solutions, will collaborate with Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club, one of the premier golf courses in Northern Thailand.

Smartscore’s cutting-edge technology aims to revolutionise the golfing experience, offering a digital transformation of golf operations and enhancing the enjoyment of the sport for golf enthusiasts.

Boasting a meticulously maintained layout that ranks among Chiang Mai’s finest, Summit Green Valley was designed by Dennis Griffiths, who also sculpted the Thai Country Club in Bangkok.

Nestled in the lush lowlands just 20 minutes from downtown Chiang Mai, Summit Green Valley offers breathtaking natural beauty, air purity, and a distinctive Northern Thai landscape. It is renowned for its challenging play, especially from the back tees, which stretch to more than 7,200 yards.

With the integration of Smartscore’s advanced GPS tracking system into Summit Green Valley’s fleet of golf carts, players will now have access to real-time mapping information and handicap data at their fingertips.

This innovation not only digitises golf operations but also significantly enhances the player experience by providing detailed course navigation, hazard identification, and personalised performance tracking.

The course itself features an abundance of sand bunkers, water hazards and narrow fairways lined with palm trees, demanding precision and strategy. The signature ninth hole, with its carry over water to an elevated island green, is particularly memorable.

A spokesperson for Smartscore said the partnership with Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club signifies a commitment to enhancing the golfing experience through technology.
