Singapore: Greenkeepers and turf managers are being presented with the opportunity to join Sentosa Golf Club’s Agronomy Superintendent Volunteer Programme at this year’s LIV Golf Singapore.

To be staged over the award-winning Serapong Course from May 3-5, the LIV event will feature a host of Major champions, led by Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith and Dustin Johnson.

As part of what promises to be a memorable week, Sentosa Golf Club will be running an Agronomy Superintendent Volunteer Programme at which attendees will learn about the club’s state-of-the-art course conditioning.

The R&A’s Chris Gray, The Toro Company’s Richard Walne and BRT Agronomy’s Brad Revill will all make presentations at a special seminar that will take place on May 1.

  • Walne, Managing Director, APAC, The Toro Company, will present new research and development updates from The Toro Company.
  • Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) President Gray will provide updates on the AGIF’s progress and the background behind the success of the on-going Certificate in Greenkeeping programme. Wearing his hat as Head of Sustainable Golf & Agronomy, Asia-Pacific at The R&A, Gray will also share insights on The R&A’s research with carbon sequestration.
  • Revill, Managing Director, BRT Agronomy, will showcase updates and focus an impactful presentation on Soil Testing.

Elliot Murdoch, the AGIF’s General Manager, said: “This is another fabulous initiative from Sentosa Golf Club and a unique chance for those in the turfgrass industry in the region to grow their knowledge and broaden their skillset.

“We look forward to seeing a strong turnout of individuals from AGIF Facility Members.”

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dr Thomas Nikolai has had to cancel his planned trip. However, he’s confirmed his participation at next year’s event.

Following completion of the presentations on May 1, volunteers will be invited to attend an AGIF-sponsored BBQ at the SGC Golf Maintenance facility, starting at 5:30 pm.
