Troon’s University Club of Kentucky Tie-Up

Scottsdale, Arizona, United States: Troon has been selected to manage the University Club of Kentucky, a 36-hole facility in Lexington.

Indigo Sports, a Troon company, will oversee golf operations, agronomy, food and beverage, retail, and sales and marketing.

Open since 1992, the University Club of Kentucky is the official home of the University of Kentucky’s men’s and women’s golf teams.

The Arthur Hills Golf-designed Big Blue Course is a par-72 layout that stretches to 7,013 yards. Rolling across the Kentucky countryside, the course features Bent grass from tee to green.

The Wildcat Course plays to 6,680 yards and a par of 71. While shorter in length than Big Blue, Wildcat features more of a parkland setting that rolls through trees and along creeks and ponds. This course also features beautiful bunkering and green complexes that require precision upon approach.

“We are thrilled to begin our partnership with Troon, an innovative company with the expertise needed to expand the facility’s potential,” said Danny McQueen, owner of University Club of Kentucky.

“We have worked hard over the years to create a premier golf destination and look forward to Troon’s leadership to further enhance the golf courses and overall operations,” he added.

The 10,000 square-foot clubhouse is filled with University of Kentucky memorabilia and contains private meeting rooms that host a variety of events and meetings.

A well-appointed golf shop offers the latest in golf equipment and apparel, while the Bar & Grille is open for golfers and non-golfers alike to enjoy a relaxing meal with golf course views.

“Our team is honoured to work with the University Club of Kentucky, a first-class facility that shares our keen attention to quality and outstanding customer service,” said Nick Bednar, Vice President of Operations at Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“We look forward to building on U-Club’s strong reputation in the market and creating memorable experiences for generations of golfers to come,” added Bednar.
