Scottsdale, Arizona, United States: Troon has been selected to manage Oakhurst Country Club, a private facility located in Clayton, California, and has named Noreen Rognlien as the club’s new General Manager.

Troon will manage Oakhurst’s golf and club operations, food and beverage, retail, golf course agronomy, and membership marketing.

Rognlien comes to Oakhurst from nearby Contra Costa Country Club, a Troon-managed club in Pleasant Hill, where she excelled in various roles, including Marketing and Membership Sales Director for seven years before being promoted to Director of Operations in January, 2022.

Prior to her nine years at Contra Costa, Rognlien worked as Membership Director at Berkeley Country Club and as the Regional Tournament Sales Director for American Golf Corporation.

She brings a broad set of skills and associations that will benefit Oakhurst and is deeply engaged in the local and national chapters of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA). She recently earned Level 1 status from the American Sommelier Association.

“Noreen is passionate about developing a strong member and team culture, where employees and members feel like the best versions of themselves. We’re excited to have her leading the team at Oakhurst Country Club,” said Ryan Whitney, Vice President of Operations at Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

Named the ‘Best New Course in Northern California’ by California Golf Magazine when it opened in 1990, Oakhurst Country Club features an 18-hole links-style layout designed by Ron Fream.

The course plays through 360 acres of lakes and natural wetlands in the foothills of Mount Diablo.

Oakhurst’s golf practice facilities include a double-sided driving range and three large putting greens. In addition to golf, members enjoy four lighted tennis courts, a pool and fitness facility with a Junior Olympic-size pool, fitness rooms, state-of-the-art cardio-vascular and weight-training equipment.

The clubhouse includes an array of world-class amenities, including a restaurant and lounge; men’s and women’s locker rooms; a full-service pro shop; and a variety of meeting rooms and banquet facilities accommodating events ranging from intimate business dinners to large-scale wedding receptions and fund-raising galas.
