Mounim Ghetreff.

Tangier City, Morocco: Two months after it was brought in to manage and provide expertise across agronomy, marketing and operational divisions, Troon has appointed Mounim Ghetreff as Golf Manager at Al Houara Golf Club.

Ghetreff, a Moroccan national, boasts more than three decades of experience in a diverse range of roles, including recent roles as Deputy Managing Director at Golf Hossegor, and Managing Director of Vittel Ermitage Golf Club, both in France.

With an extensive background of strategic management, and having held CEO positions across Africa and the Middle East, Ghetreff will oversee all golf operations at the club which boasts an 18-hole course designed by Graham Marsh in collaboration with Vijay Singh.

“In appointing Mounim Ghetreff as the Golf Manager, Al Houara Golf Club have secured a remarkable professional with an abundance of experience across multiple roles,” said DJ Flanders, Executive Vice President of Troon International, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Ghetreff’s strategic leadership and passion for golf perfectly resonate with the club’s vision, instilling confidence that he will propel Al Houara Golf Club to unprecedented success,” added Flanders.

Speaking about his new role, Ghetreff said: “It is an immense privilege to be entrusted with the role of Golf Manager at Al Houara, and I am eager to embark on this exciting journey to provide exceptional experiences and maintain the course to the highest of standards.

“Returning to my native country of Morocco and actively contributing to the development of golf by broadening the base of practitioners is a huge honour.

“As part of the Troon International family, we have access to a wealth of expertise and resources that will undoubtedly contribute to the success of Al Houara Golf Club. This will provide a strong foundation to build upon and enable us to offer a truly world-class Troon Golf experience.

“We are excited about the immediate and long-term future for the facility with opportunities present both domestically and internationally. We have already made some quick accomplishments since Troon’s arrival in November including moving into the Academy Clubhouse, building a Golf Cart Barn, and hiring a well-rounded operational team.

“Our next focus includes resort integration with the spectacular onsite Hilton hotel, establishing key domestic partnerships with the Moroccan Golf Federation and clubs, implementing training to ensure we are delivering the Troon Golf Experience to members and guests not only in our golf course condition but on the operational side also, and attending and conducting key international sales calls to educate the trade on our fantastic product.”
