Premium on Tee-Times as Golf Tourism Surges

Mark Siegel.

Bangkok, Thailand: With a surge in golf vacations to Southeast Asia, tee-times in several popular destinations in the region will be hard to come by until after Easter, according to Golfasian, a pre-eminent player in Asia’s golf tourism industry.

“It’s true that in some regions it is going to be extremely hard to book a round of golf,” said Mark Siegel, Managing Director of Golfasian, citing Danang on Vietnam’s Central Coast as a prime example.

“Many clubs are reporting that they’re fully booked until the end of April, 2024. But we reserve tee times up to 12 months in advance. So luckily our customers will still get their prime tee times,” added Siegel, whose award-winning company continued to expand this year.

During 2023, Golfasian – a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation – opened new offices in Hanoi and Danang in Vietnam to complement its existing operations in Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.

This year also marked Golfasian’s foray into the Philippines, establishing a full operational presence and further broadening its geographical footprint.

At the World Golf Awards in Abu Dhabi, Golfasian was named ‘World’s Best Golf Tour Operator’. The company also garnered titles for Asia’s Best Golf Tour Operator, along with country-specific awards in Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

In 2023, more than 15,000 golfers chose Golfasian for tailor-made golf vacations, a number that is already being surpassed in forward bookings for 2024.

Demonstrating innovation, Golfasian has also launched several golf tournaments in Asia, hosting over 2,000 club golfers from across the globe. The company’s calendar for 2024 includes seven tournaments, with plans to add more events to cater to the growing demand from golf enthusiasts worldwide.

Siegel said: “Investing in both technology and personnel, Golfasian is dedicated to elevating the customer experience to new heights. This investment is not only focused on enhancing the quality of services but also in scaling the business to accommodate our expanding clientele.

“As we look back on a year marked by both accolades and expansion, we extend our deepest gratitude to our partners and clients. Our focus for 2024 is clear: to continue delivering refined and memorable golfing experiences that exceed expectations.”
