Tangier City, Morocco: Al Houara Golf Club has appointed Troon to utilise its management experience and expertise across its agronomy, marketing and operations.

Troon’s International Division manages and provides services to resorts worldwide with courses across Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.

It has vast experience in Morocco, having been engaged previously with multiple facilities, including assisting with the development of Al Houara which first opened in 2019.

Located in Tangier City, Al Houara Golf Club will fall under the brand of Troon Golf which represents a portfolio of daily-fee, resort and semi-private properties that deliver superior guest services, the finest playing surfaces, and outstanding amenities.

Hamad Bin Talal Al Thani, Chief Development and Project Delivery Officer, Development, of the Al Houara Coastal Resort Project, said: “Al Houara Golf Club’s partnership with Troon marks an exciting chapter as we continue on our journey as a world class golf resort.

“With Troon’s expertise and our breathtaking setting, we are poised to elevate the club to new heights, offering an unparalleled experience for our guests. We symbolise a commitment to excellence across our hotel and golf course.”

Al Houara Golf Club, along with its on-site hotel, the Hilton Tangier Al Houara Resort & Spa, was recently named in Golf.com’s Top 100 Golf Resorts in the World.

At the heart of this is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Graham Marsh in collaboration with Vijay Singh, with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. The golf club also boasts a floodlit nine-hole short course, a driving range with short game areas and two indoor swing rooms.

“Drawing on our rich experience in Morocco and resorts, this partnership will enable us to help propel Al Houara to its full potential, driving the resort on to new heights and growing its already esteemed reputation,” said DJ Flanders, Executive Vice President of Troon International, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“It’s a collaborative effort that promises growth, excellence, and an elevated experience for all who choose to indulge in the luxurious offerings of Al Houara,” added Flanders.
