Charleston, South Carolina, United States: The National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) has released the 2024 Golf Industry Compensation and Benefits Report.
The report, published digitally in single course and multi-course versions, is now available to NGCOA members at no cost as a membership benefit.
Within its 45-plus pages is the most recent and reliable compensation and benefits levels based on 842 participating facilities.
It represents the most complete, accurate and up-to-date compensation data in the industry, and is designed to allow NGCOA members to easily compare compensation levels and benefit policies among their peer golf course businesses.
The data was collected and the report developed by NGCOA in partnership with the National Golf Foundation (NGF), who jointly surveyed compensation and benefits data from members of NGCOA as well as a broader universe of golf course operators.
David Lorentz, NGF’s Chief Research Officer, said: “The NGF team was excited to be able to contribute to this important piece of research. Especially in what has become such a competitive job market, high-quality salary data is both a critical tool for employers, and a compassionate aspect of people management. We applaud NGCOA’s leadership on this.”
This analysis focuses on the organisational factors that have historically shown a relationship with golf course staff compensation including annual gross revenue, facility type, geographic region and scope of responsibility.
Its results cannot be extrapolated to represent the entire industry. However, they do provide a strong representation of the compensation and benefits provided in the golf industry.
Taylor Wall, NGCOA Senior Director of Education, said: “We’re thrilled to once again provide the NGCOA membership with crucial compensation data, particularly as many operators have begun to shift their focus to 2024 planning and budgeting.
“The survey garnered the largest response from facilities of any prior report, so I’m especially grateful to those owners who shared their data with us to ensure the most accurate representation of the compensation trends in our industry.
“I also tip my cap to the talented research team at the NGF for all of their hard work in compiling this data.”
