Singapore: The second staging of the Singapore Classic will tee-off the DP World Tour’s five-leg Asian Swing in 2024. To be held over the Classic Course at Laguna National Golf Resort Club from March 21-24, the event will boast a purse of US$2 million.
The DP World Tour’s 2024 schedule will feature a minimum of 44 tournaments in 24 countries and across five continents with members competing for an overall record prize fund of US$148.5 million (excluding the Majors).
The 2024 Race to Dubai will feature three new and distinct phases, including five ‘Global Swings’ from November 2023 to August 2024. The Asian Swing is preceded by the Opening Swing and International Swing and will be followed by the European Swing and Closing Swing.
Each Swing will have its own identity and Rankings and its own champion who will each earn US$200,000 from an overall US$1 million Bonus Pool. Swing Champions will also qualify for each of the ‘Back 9’ events.
At the conclusion of the Global Swings phase, a further US$1 million Bonus Pool will then be shared among the leading 10 players on the Race to Dubai.
According to the DP World Tour’s schedule for 2024, the Asian Swing will run from March 21 through to May 5 and consist of five events, all with prize funds of US$2 million.
Following the Singapore Classic and an ‘Asia Event TBA’ from March 28-31 there will be a three-week break which takes in The Masters Tournament at Augusta National, the first men’s Major of the year.
The Asian Swing resumes the week after with the Korea Championship at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon (April 18-21) followed by the ISPS Handa Championship at the Taiheiyo Club’s Gotemba Course in Japan (April 25-28).
The Asian Swing will conclude in the first week of May with the Volvo China Open, at Shenzhen’s Hidden Grace Golf Club.
Keith Pelley, the DP World Tour’s Chief Executive, said: “Our 2024 season will see our members come together to compete across a global schedule, with greater opportunities and rewards than ever before.
“The many new and original enhancements we have introduced will guarantee drama and excitement for our fans, our broadcasters and all our stakeholders across the entire season and means, more than ever, that every week counts on the DP World Tour.”
