Singapore: The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) has received the Green Hospitality Award at the Singapore Environment Achievement Awards (SEAA) 2023.

Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, presented the awards during a ceremony at Pan Pacific Orchard.

The SEAA remains one of the most prestigious environmental awards in Singapore and recognises the overall environmental stewardship by organisations.

The award supports the Singapore Green Plan, which seeks to rally and inspire people to take action on environmental initiatives.

The Green Hospitality Award honours hospitality and leisure organisations that have made remarkable contributions to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Organisations are assessed on their exemplary environmental practices in these four key aspects: Systems and Management, Performance (Environmental), Leadership & Advocacy, and Award Category Specific Initiatives.

“This prestigious award is an affirmation of SICC’s unyielding commitment to drive a meaningful transformation of the club by embedding sustainability programmes across our club operations and community engagement efforts,” said Vincent Wee, President of the SICC, a Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“We are only at the beginning of our sustainability journey and are grateful that these measures have paid off. This will encourage us to set even more ambitious goals in the future,” he added.

SICC General Manager Ian Roberts said: “As the new General Manager of the club, I am impressed by the tremendous effort put forth by the team and members collectively to achieve our sustainability goals.

“I look forward to working with all stakeholders to further develop and expand on what we have already achieved in our sustainability programme and practices.

“The club remains steadfast in our strong commitment to sustainability, and together we can help to make a positive impact on the environment and community.”
