New York, United States: The New York Stock Exchange welcomed a delegation of representatives from the world of women’s golf as the Founder of Women’s Golf Day (WGD) Elisa Gaudet performed the honour of ringing the opening bell.

Joining Gaudet on the stage were representatives from Acushnet, Titleist and FootJoy, partner of Women’s Golf Day, LPGA player Danielle Kang and former Olympian Leslee Maxie

This year’s new week-long Women’s Golf Day celebration will conclude on the anniversary of the very first Women’s Golf Day, June 6.

“I am delighted to share this platform with some amazing people who have dedicated themselves to promoting women’s golf,” said Gaudet.

“The industry is working hard to make sure that women are well represented, that the sport understands the needs of its female consumers, and that women around the world see all the fantastic opportunities to get involved in golf.

“This commitment is reflected in the rising female participation figures around the world, from the bunkers to the board room, and we are incredibly proud of the role that Women’s Golf Day has played, and continues to play, in that change. I can’t thank the NYSE and Acushnet enough for bringing women to the forefront here today and sharing our passion.”

As well as enjoying the platform given to them by the NYSE, Women’s Golf Day has also been given the opportunity to remain front and centre throughout the coming weeks with brand placement on the ABC supersign on Time Square.  The branding will also appear at a second sign in Silicon Valley.

Women’s Golf Day is now in its eighth year and continues to grow around the world. This year there are four new countries joining the campaign – Gambia, Greece, Peru and Zambia – and there has been a huge increase in participation in Japan.

After holding its first events in 2021, Japan will host 139 Women’s Golf Day events, making it the second biggest WGD country after the United States.
