Danang, Vietnam: Award-winning Hoiana Shores Golf Club has confirmed the staging of the inaugural Greenkeeper’s Revenge charity tournament.
The brainchild of Nguyen Duc Long, Golf Course Superintendent at Hoiana Shores, all proceeds from the event will be donated to two nearby schools for under-privileged children.
To be held on September 7, the tournament will be played in a four-person scramble format.
“It’ll be different, challenging, frustrating … but fun,” said Long, who plans to set up the Robert Trent Jones Jnr-designed links layout at its most difficult.
Duy Hai Nursery School and Duy Hai Primary School, both located near the Hoiana Shores property, will be the beneficiaries from funds that are raised.
Hoiana Shores Golf Club was the venue for Progression Course in the Asian Golf Industry Federation’s Certificate in Greenkeeping programme in March.
Hoiana Shores is located 15 minutes from Hoi An Ancient Town and 45 minutes by car from Da Nang International Airport, which serves direct international flights to and from Asia’s major cities and domestic flights from throughout Vietnam.
A variety of packages are available for the charity tournament, including enticing stay-and-play offers, with accommodation at Hoiana Resort & Golf.
