Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Troon’s international properties are braced for the staging of multiple top tier events over the coming days.
Within the next week, three Tour events will take place at three Troon International locales, The MENA Tour will stage back-to-back events at the Madinaty Golf Club, while Royal Greens Golf & Country Club hosts the Asian Tour’s Saudi International, and Al Hamra Golf Club prepares for the second instalment of the Ras al Khaimah Championship on the DP World Tour.
A leader in golf course management, development and marketing, Troon continues to support host facilities across agronomy, operations and marketing to ensure they have the tools in place to effectively showcase their golf courses when welcoming some of the world’s best golfers.
“Troon opened the 2023 golf season in Hawaii at Kapalua with the Sentry Tournament of Champions on the PGA Tour and now Troon International kicks of its 2023 tournament calendar with three events in one week on three different professional Tours,” said Mark Chapleski, Executive Vice-President of Troon International, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation
He added: “This is a testament to our unrivalled standards of quality and conditioning and the professional associates that run the operations at our facilities.
“To be able to plan, prepare and successfully deliver multiple events in such a short timeframe is testament to the innovation, dedication and above and beyond attitude our team exuberates on a day-to-day basis.
“We would like to congratulate and thank all of our ownerships for their visions and dedication to golf for being instrumental in bringing these Tour events to their courses.
“Looking ahead to the coming week, I’ve already received fantastic feedback from people arriving on the sites of our three Tour venue facilities.
“For us it’s a privilege to be able to work with these fantastic golf courses who seek out our guidance to assist on the delivery of world-class events. We look forward to being able to showcase these Troon venues – Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah, Al Hamra Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah and Madinaty Golf Club in Cairo – then look forward to enjoying the increase in enquiries and visitors as a result of this additional exposure.”
This week’s golf kicks off in Egypt for the Egyptian Swing competition at Madinaty Golf Club as part of the MENA Tour, featuring some of the most promising up-and-coming golfers from around the world.
The Troon-managed course is coming off the back of a historic first after hosting one of the Asian Tour’s International Series events. It was the highest profile tournament the club has staged and has opened up multiple opportunities to host similar events.
Over the last few years, the team at Troon and Madinaty Golf Club have worked to transform the golf club into a prestigious golfing destination. The exceptional playing conditions and hospitality Madinaty offered drew widespread praise and was named as ‘the players’ choice golf course’ on the Asian Tour in 2022.
Following the MENA Tour event in late January, the first weekend in February will see Troon International host two tournaments on the same weekend, for the second consecutive year.
Also for the second year in succession, the US$5 million PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers at Royal Greens will act as the opening leg of the Asian Tour season.
A stellar cast of players includes 2022 Open champion Cameron Smith, previous two-time winner of the tournament Dustin Johnson and reigning champion Harold Varner III.
The Ras Al Khaimah Championship presented by Phoenix Capital will also take place from February 2-5 at Al Hamra Golf Club, forming part of the DP World Tour’s five-week ‘Middle East Swing’.
