Singapore: PK Ong, a well known figure in the golf industry in Asia for more than two decades, has assumed the role of Administration and Membership Manager at the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).
“We’re delighted to welcome PK back,” said AGIF President Chris Gray. “She has a wealth of experience in managing golf operations and organising golf events and will be a tremendous asset as we look forward to a busy second half of 2022, including the resumption of the Certificate in Greenkeeping programme and the staging of the inaugural AGIF Danang Conference.”
Ong originally worked with the Federation from 2009 to 2018, during which time she oversaw administration and event management.
“PK has a deep knowledge of the industry as a whole and is well-known to many of our members,” added Gray.
Ong started her golf career at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) before a spell at the Spring City Golf & Lake Resort in Kunming, China, where she assisted in the grand opening of the resort and the opening of the award-winning venue’s second 18-hole course.
After returning to her native Singapore, Ong took up a role at Marina Bay Golf Course where she was involved from construction to pre-opening and post-opening operations.
Subsequently she had spells at Orchid Country Club and, most recently, at the SICC, covering all aspects of golf operations and golf course maintenance.
