Troon Aims to Elevate Oldfield Experience

Troon-managed Oldfield is highlighted by an 18-hole course sculpted by Greg Norman Golf Course Design.

Scottsdale, Arizona, United States: Troon has been selected to manage Oldfield, a private, member-owned community in Okatie, South Carolina.

Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, will manage golf operations and agronomy, the Equestrian Centre, Sports Club, Outfitters Centre, food and beverage, and membership marketing, as well as Oldfield’s community association.

Located along the banks of the Okatie River, Oldfield is ‘Lowcountry Living. Perfected.’

Oldfield, an Audubon International Certified Sustainable Community, offers an array of amenities for residents and members, highlighted by an 18-hole course, sculpted by Greg Norman Golf Course Design, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

There’s also a Sports Club with cardio and strength training equipment, heated lap pool, large outdoor pool, wellness and nutrition clinics, and tennis and pickleball courts; and an Equestrian Centre.

Oldfield’s Outfitters Centre provides a comprehensive offering of outdoor activities including fishing, boating and boat storage, shooting sports, kayaking, and nature programming, which capitalise on the community’s outdoor lifestyle.

The River Club is the community’s centrepiece for dining, relaxing and conversation, affording members and guests with panoramic views of the marsh and river. The Magnolia Grill, located in the Oldfield Clubhouse, is a casual dining destination for lunch and dinner.

“We feel privileged to be entrusted by both Boards at Oldfield, Club and Community Association, as they seek to further elevate the quality of the lifestyle experience for all residents and members,” said Joe Langford, Vice President of Operations for Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Our team is thrilled to get started at Oldfield and will look to further elevate the club and community in terms of service, food and beverage offerings, experience, and more,” added Langford.

Oldfield Club President Mark Rovnak said: “Troon Privé has extensive experience in managing premium private clubs and communities similar to Oldfield. This expertise and leadership will be critical as we navigate the changing landscape for the private, lifestyle communities while remaining true to the essence of Oldfield that initially drew us here and that we all cherish.”

Community Association President Jeff Shawd said: “Oldfield members care deeply about Oldfield’s natural beauty, from our white-fenced pastures to our riverside marshes, and we believe Troon can bring an enhanced level of stewardship.”

As a Troon Privé-managed club, equity golf members of Oldfield can enjoy the Troon Privé Privileges programme, which delivers golf and lifestyle benefits as well as reciprocal play at other Troon Privé-managed private clubs around the world.
