Nine-Hole Putting Green Addition at Laguna National

The nine-hole Laguna Putting Powered by Nicklaus Design is built on premium grade synthetic turf.

Singapore: Laguna National Golf Resort Club’s latest golfing offering is on track to be unveiled before the mid-way point of 2022.

A nine-hole putting green built on premium grade synthetic turf, Laguna Putting Powered by Nicklaus Design is the first of its kind in Singapore.

Attractively set out, the holes wind their way around lush landscape, discreetly hidden away behind The Nest and opposite the ninth green on the Masters Course.

“This is another fabulous addition to Laguna National’s extensive golfing amenities that will be appreciated and enjoyed by Members as well as guests at Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore,” said Peter Goh, General Manager at Laguna National, a Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Not only does it perfectly complement the outstanding facilities we have in place at Laguna Practice powered by TopTracer, but also it will continue the Laguna National philosophy of growing the game,” he added.

Spanning almost 600 square metres, the putting green is scheduled to open for play by early June.

Each of the nine holes has been designed with subtle breaks that will not only challenge a player’s putting technique, but also his or her green-reading abilities.

The construction of the putting green was undertaken by Mark Isley, Laguna National’s General Manager of Golf Course and Agronomy, Lee Yew Kee, Course Superintendent, and Lucas Roberts of Southwest Greens, who provided technical advice.

Isley said: “The premium grade synthetic turf has the look, feel and bite of natural grass. It’s the most authentic artificial grass on the market today.”

Goh added: “Whether you’re a low-handicapper or a beginner, it will be the perfect spot for you to improve your putting – and have fun at the same time.”
