Addressing Labour and Staffing Solutions

Charleston, South Carolina, United States: As golf courses, clubs and facilities across America continue to struggle to hire and retain staff, the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) has announced its latest Golf Business Conference 2022 education session: Staffing Strategies and Solutions Across the Golf Industry.

The expert panel of industry and business leaders includes Sandy Cross (Chief People Officer, PGA of America), Alex Elmore (EVP, Troon), and Lonny Ostrander (CEO, Puzzle HR), and will be moderated by veteran golf writer and Golf Business magazine contributor Michael Williams.

This candid conversation and ultimate course of action will be critical for all golf course operators tasked with hiring for a golf course business.

The session will takes place on Tuesday (January 25) at 11:15 am (Eastern Time) at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Admission is included in a Golf Business Conference 2022 pass.

The panelists will examine ways to navigate golf course operations with a thin labour force, and explain how managers can find frontline staff despite a noticeably low response to want ads.

They’ll also explain how owners and operators can create a work-life balance for their employees that will not only keep them on the payroll, but propel them to success.

Furthermore, the panel will delve into diversity in hiring and discuss practical ways course operators can seek out, interview, hire and employ those from diverse backgrounds within their communities.

“Golf course owners and operators wear many hats, and oftentimes the most difficult one is that of the employer,” said Jay Karen, NGCOA’s Chief Executive Officer.

“We need to ensure golf courses across America are progressive, excellent places to work, if we are going to thrive in the coming years. The content from this session alone will be worth the price of admission,” he added.

The Golf Business Conference is the industry’s largest annual gathering of golf course owners and operators, and is hosted by the NGCOA.

Golf Business Conference 2022 will include three days of education, activities and networking relevant to golf course owners and operators. Through NGCOA’s continuing strategic alliance with the PGA of America and PGA Golf Exhibitions, GBC22 attendees can also participate in a wide range of programmes and activities at the 2022 PGA Show, including various PGA Show Education Conference sessions.
