Singapore: Listening to the requests of turf managers in the golf and sports industry to become carbon neutral, Centaur Asia Pacific has always been on the lookout for zero-emission products that help to reduce the carbon footprint of its customers.

More than 10 years ago, Centaur Asia Pacific introduced a fully electrical and autonomous golf greensmower to Asia.

“We were heavily invested in the introduction of these autonomous electrical greens-mowers, but unfortunately the manufacturer made the decision to put this part of their business on hold before we could fulfill orders. We definitely built a lot of serious interest from some prestigious golf clubs,” said Danny Potter, Founder and Owner of Centaur, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

Since then, Centaur Asia Pacific has been actively searching for a product range to introduce to the company’s like-minded ‘green’ customers.

Robotic mowers and golf ball-pickers have been in use in Europe for more than five years now and it’s been Centaur Asia Pacific’s goal to introduce similar products to Asia.

To that end, Centaur Asia Pacific recently announced its partnership with ECHO Robotics, a global leader in commercial robotic mowing and golf-ball picking for sport fields and driving ranges.

Potter said: “The ECHO Robotics range is completely autonomous, quiet in operation and, most importantly, they are 100% emission-free.

“This model matches Centaur’s mission to become as environmental-friendly as possible and to have a green approach.

“We now have the best solutions for automatic ball picking and mowing at driving ranges that allows turf managers to re-allocate their labour as well as creating a better experience for customers.”
