Bangalore, India: Karnataka Golf Association (KGA), one of India’s most prominent golf courses, has welcomed Coman Mulry as the club’s Course Superintendent.
In his new role, Mulry will manage and oversee the agronomic maintenance of the 18-hole course designed by Thomson and Wolveridge.
Prasanth Sakhamuri, Chairman of the Golf Course Committee at Karnataka Golf Association, said: “KGA is delighted to have Coman Mulry join us as Course Superintendent and help KGA in its quest for excellence as a premier golf course in the world.
“KGA has a long-standing agreement in agronomy support and management with Troon International and Coman joins KGA on behalf of Troon. His extensive experience with some of the best golf courses in the world will help propel KGA to higher heights of excellence.”
Mulry, who hails from Ireland, has 13 years of experience with Troon, working in facilities in five different countries – Greece, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, UAE and India.
He now leads the agronomy team at Karnataka Golf Association after two years as Superintendent at Al Zorah Golf Club in the UAE.
This is Mulry’s second posting in the garden city of Bangalore. He was previously the superintendent at Prestige Golfshire Club, another Troon-managed facility.
Mulry is well versed in the Indian market and understands the importance of introducing sound agronomic practices as well as robust staff training and development programmes. He has a proven track record in producing superior playing surfaces and building a team environment.
If his new role, Mulry said: “I am delighted to be returning to Bangalore and joining and leading the agronomy team at KGA. It is a renowned club in India, known for its long-term commitment and investment in its outstanding golf course. I am grateful to the management committees and members for placing their trust in me to continue to move the golf course forward.”
