Singapore: The Singapore Golf Association (SGA) raised more than S$145,000 at its annual fund-raising golf day at Keppel Club.

The money will go to the SGA’s high-performance programme, which is dedicated to developing national golfers. The donations will also be matched dollar-for-dollar through the One Team Singapore Fund.

There were a total of more than 130 donors and guests who participated at Keppel Club, including Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen, who was the Guest of Honour.

All golfers adhered to the necessary safe management measures which included staggered arrival and safe distancing throughout the day.

Hole-in-one and lucky draw prizes were up for grabs and mementos were presented to the host club and guest of honour.

Ng Luo Yi, Captain at Keppel Club and Chairman of the fund-raising organising committee, said: “We are pleased to have successfully organised the fund-raising golf day despite the limited novelty events due to strict implementation of safe management measures.”

Ross Tan, President of the SGA, said: “We would like to sincerely thank all donors and supporters for their generosity towards SGA’s efforts in developing future champions.

“Our national golfers remain motivated and have been training hard to represent Singapore at major competitions. SGA will also continue our efforts to grow the game amongst the community and introduce them to this game of a lifetime.”
