Focus on Future of Golf Club Membership

PGA Magazine low

Birmingham, England: The second issue of The PGA of Great Britain & Ireland’s Golf Business Quarterly (GBQ) is out now, with the latest edition taking a look at the future of golf club membership.

Featuring interviews and opinions from an array of leaders, chief executives and industry professionals, GBQ examines exactly what goes in to successfully recruiting and retaining members.

Issue two looks at Open Championship-hosting venues, private clubs and pay-and-play facilities in Great Britain and Ireland, including an exclusive on The R&A’s new project at Lethamhill, in Glasgow, that includes insight on what the game’s governing body is hoping to achieve by opening its first golf facility for the public.

The magazine also features interviews with England Rugby’s World Cup-winning coach Sir Clive Woodward; Phil Anderton, Chief Development Officer at The R&A; and Therabody founder Dr Jason Wersland, all of whom offer a unique perspective of the game.

The quarterly print magazine is sent to PGA Members and members of its Business Management Group and Club Volunteer categories, with a digital version being free to read for anybody working or volunteering in golf.

“We’re proud to share the second issue of Golf Business Quarterly with industry professionals,” said Richard Barker, Executive Director – Business Development at the PGA of GB&I, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“We think it provides a fascinating and stimulating read and gives genuine insight into the subject of golf club membership,” added Barker.

Created by a working group comprising industry professionals from governing bodies, publishing, professional golf, market research and golf club management, GBQ aims to present a rounded view of golf business to provide readers with thought leadership, data analysis and expert commentary that is applicable to all disciplines in the golf industry.
