Buffalo Grove, Illinois, United States: Profile Products has hired Shane Porzio as its President.

Porzio’s role is a new position created by the company and he will be responsible for managing all of Profile’s businesses – including horticulture, environmental solutions and clay technologies – in the areas of sales, marketing, research and development, operations and logistics. 

Jim Tanner will remain the company’s Chief Executive Officer and focus on business development.

Tanner said: “Shane’s wealth of experience immediately caught our attention, and we knew he would be an excellent fit to lead Profile in this role.

“As our company continues to grow, he is primed to take us to the next level, and we are confident that our customers will reap the benefits of his knowledge and expertise.”

Porzio brings extensive executive experience to Profile with his most recent position as Senior Vice President and Global Head of the Food and Performance Materials Divisions for Vantage Specialty Chemicals.

Prior to that role, Porzio spent 22 years with BASF in various executive positions and gained extensive international experience.

In addition to his general management experience, Porzio has also led teams in research and development, operations, supply chain management, and sales and marketing.

Porzio has his PhD in polymer science from The University of Akron, an MBA from Wake Forest University and his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and anthropology from Beloit College.

He is fluent in four languages including Spanish, German and Portuguese.
