Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: All global Troon-affiliated golf clubs annually celebrate ‘Troon Family Golf Month’. And 2021 is no different at Yas Links Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club with both courses introducing non-playing parents and juniors to the game of golf.
During July, attractive opportunities are on offer for visitors, including complimentary golf for juniors and ease of access to the course at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and both the Academy Course and Toptracer Range at Yas Links Abu Dhabi.
All families visiting the clubs this month can see their children (juniors) play for free after 3 pm on the Championship Course when playing with a paying adult. Juniors will also enjoy complimentary access, seven days a week, on the Par 3 Academy Course at Yas Links Abu Dhabi before 3 pm on weekdays and after 3 pm on weekends when playing with a paying adult.
Francisco de Lancastre David, Cluster General Manager at Troon Abu Dhabi, said: “Over the past year we’ve seen a huge surge of interest in golf in Abu Dhabi.
“The combination of golf being an easy and safe way to exercise, as well as the condition of the golf course improving dramatically over the past year has led to a surge of interest from new audiences wanting to experience what golf has to offer.
“That is why this Family Golf Month, we hope parents and juniors will join us in Abu Dhabi to play golf, enjoy the outdoors together and appreciate the camaraderie that golf provides. So, make sure to book your next round at either Saadiyat Beach or Yas Links as a family, as this fantastic programme is available every day during July.”
Designed by Gary Player, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club was the Arabian Gulf’s first beachfront course. Offering views of the Gulf’s glittering ocean, the 18-hole course and practice facilities harness the beauty of Saadiyat Island.
Meanwhile, the Kyle Phillips-sculpted Yas Links Abu Dhabi combines visual glory with the thrill of a genuine links test.
Both courses have undergone improvements during the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure they are ready to meet the high level of demand of returning golfers.
Both clubs have enjoyed tremendous growth in the number of rounds played from both daily fee guests and societies in the past 12 months.
Meanwhile, Troon Abu Dhabi remains committed to a series of initiatives, including its ‘Grow the Game’ offering that enables affordable entry points for societies, and ‘Troon Family Golf Month’ every July.
At Yas Links, the bulk of these initiatives are focused on the Troon Academy in Abu Dhabi, whose main aim is to introduce golf to new audiences and help grow the game throughout the emirate.
