London, England: Rain Bird Europe has been joined by Nathan Jenkins as Golf Sales Specialist for Scandinavia and Finland, and Gundars Vietnieks as Area Sales Manager Golf Eastern Europe.

Before joining Rain Bird, Jenkins’ greenkeeping career spanned top golf venues in the United Kingdom, Sweden and Australia. He brings valuable experience to his new role, having worked extensively with irrigation systems in countries with varying climates and grass species.

Jenkins said: “Having worked in the greenkeeping industry for my whole career, I fully understand how important irrigation systems are, especially when conditions are challenging.

“My previous role at the exclusive Ullna Golf Club, just north of Stockholm, required a very high standard, despite the Scandinavian climate. I know how much pressure courses are under to achieve the high standards that golfers expect today as well as managing all the environmental constraints for water usage.

“I’m looking forward to helping Rain Bird users optimise their irrigation efficiency and to supporting those looking to upgrade and extend the current systems.”

Vietnieks has over 11 years’ experience in the golf industry with previous roles in sales, project management and marketing consultancy related to golf businesses.

He said: “As my passion is irrigation, I’m really excited about joining the team at Rain Bird Europe. I also know how important water efficiency is for golf courses; using exactly the right amount and in the right places.

“My aim is to help users to overcome challenges and get the very best from their irrigation systems.”

Jimmy Sandison, Regional Golf Sales Manager, Rain Bird Europe, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nathan and Gundars to Rain Bird Europe. They both have a great deal of industry and irrigation experience which further strengthens our team.”

Rain Bird is an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
