Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, United States: Pacesetter Technology, developer of custom mobile apps dedicated to the delivery of exceptional member experiences, has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).
Pacesetter has built apps for some of the finest clubs in the world, including Riviera Country Club, Baltusrol Golf Club, Medinah Country Club and The Olympic Club.
“We’ve got club experience in our veins and software in our DNA,” said George Stavros, who founded the company in 2013.
He added: “We’re combining these decades of entrepreneurial, club operations and technology experience to innovate the private club member experience and change things forever.
“We see a world where all member functionality will happen from their phone, creating next-level experiences like pressing a button to get your clubs pulled from the bagroom, ordering food and beverage from the middle of the fourth fairway or even opening your locker with a wave of your phone.”
Stavros, who is based in Ponte Vedra Beach, a par-five away from the PGA Tour’s headquarters, designed the first version of the Pacesetter app to enhance the golf experience.
Now, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, Stavros believes club managers must consider how technology will allow them to resume operations in the most normal fashion.
He said: “As citizens around the world move on from sheltering in place and slowly re-engage while practicing social distancing, the business operations that preceded the virus will not go on as they once did.
“With uncertainty over when and how social distancing requirements will ultimately be eased, companies and private clubs must pivot by using technology to create safe measures for members to enjoy a semblance of what was once ‘normal’ life.”
Eric Lynge, the AGIF’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Pacesetter Technology as an Associate Business Member. I have met up with George many times over the years and I am sure that Pacesetter’s offerings will be welcomed by many clubs in the Asia Pacific region.”
