Singapore: Banyan Tree Group’s Laguna Golf is celebrating a triple win of international award recognitions.

In the World Golf Awards, Laguna Golf Bintan, the group’s 18-hole oceanfront course, was named Indonesia’s Best Golf Course 2020, and Banyan Tree Phuket was honoured as Thailand’s Best Golf Hotel 2020. Meanwhile, Banyan Tree Lăng Cô won Best Luxury Golf Resort in Asia by World Luxury Awards 2020.

World Golf Awards and World Luxury Awards recognise excellence in tourism, golf courses and destinations through respective annual awards programmes. Votes were cast by travel and golf professionals and guests in a year-long search to honour organisations that are leaders in their fields. Due to international travel restrictions brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, official award ceremonies were not possible this year.

Paul Wilson, Senior Assistant Vice President of Group Golf and Destination Sales & Marketing at Laguna Phuket, said: “Banyan Tree Group is proud to be recognised as a global leader in the hospitality and golf industry. The three awards exemplify our brands – Laguna Golf and Banyan Tree Group – and spur us to continually raise the bar in service excellence and exceptional experiences.

“Laguna Golf Bintan has established itself in offering unparalleled golfing experiences while the flagship Banyan Tree Phuket, together with Laguna Golf Phuket, makes a perfect golf destination. Banyan Tree Lăng Cô shines as the Best Luxury Golf Resort in Asia.”

A 45-minute ferry from Singapore, Laguna Golf Bintan features terrains of forestlands, natural wetlands, coconut groves and thousand-year-old rock formations. Amid breezes from the South China Sea, guests play along fairways flanked by walls of jungle, uncovering ocean views towards daunting rocks.

The par-72 course is located within Laguna Bintan integrated resort, which features luxury Banyan Tree Bintan villas, contemporary Angsana Bintan accommodation and stylish Cassia Bintan beachfront apartments, along with a private beach.

Situated at Bang Tao Bay and a 20-minute drive from Phuket International Airport, Banyan Tree Phuket features three distinctive all-pool-villa resorts, blending Thai-inspired design with modern comfort.

A tranquil holiday destination for golfers, Banyan Tree Phuket is nestled around a saltwater lagoon and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. It is next to Laguna Golf Phuket’s par-71 layout which is characterised by scenic lagoons and undulating fairways with foliage and sand bunkers. Infusing nature with wildlife, it highlights sustainable environmental conservation.
