A Facility member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation, Education City Golf Club is a landmark project for Qatar and the world of golf. Designed by José María Olazábal, it comprises three courses including an 18-hole championship course, a six-hole floodlit championship course and a nine-hole floodlit par-three course.
The 18-hole course is immaculately groomed and conditioned and received widespread acclaim from players and media alike during this year’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, a European Tour event.
In line with its commitment to developing the game in the country, the club also features state-of-the-art learning and practice facilities, including a Power Tee and TrackMan equipped driving range and luxurious performance studios featuring the latest swing and custom-fit technology.
“We are delighted to welcome Education City Golf Club to our network. The club is already recognised as one of the finest in the EMEA region, reinforced by its nomination for World’s Best New Golf Course in 2020 by the World Golf Awards. They have been doing a fantastic job in developing the game of golf in Qatar and we hope that IMG Prestige members enjoy the superb facilities as soon as international travel is allowed,” said Russell Hannah, Senior Director, IMG Golf Course Services, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
Michael Braidwood, General Manager, Education City Golf Club, said: “IMG Prestige is an elite network of golf clubs and resorts from across the world and it’s an honour for us to be the first club in Qatar to be associated with IMG. The company has been involved in all aspects of the game for decades and we are very much looking forward to hosting IMG Prestige members at the club, and also seeing our members taking advantage of the reciprocal benefits.”
