The Golf Group Asia Joins Asian Golf Industry Federation

Singapore: The Golf Group Asia, a unique and skilled partnership of the region’s leading golf development and management consultants, has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).

Established in Singapore in 2013, The Golf Group was created to meet a demand for a flexible, specialised consultancy operating within Southeast Asia.

Chris Wootten, The Golf Group’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said: “Our professional services range from conceptualisation, strategy and design of site masterplans within which a golf course is to be an integral component, through to rejuvenation of existing golf club facilities that require repositioning or operational expertise.

“These can either support the development of desirable greenfield concepts or give new energy and economic basis to mature communities requiring a ‘facelift’ or remodel.

“This unique approach draws from the experience and dedication of our directors, consultant team and partners, who offer unparalleled services relating to the development and delivery of successful designs and operations.

“With expertise drawn from multiple sectors of the leisure industry, throughout Asia and across the globe, we are able to provide the best level of mixed-use site development, solid economic philosophy, sustainable design criteria and outstanding operational systems and procedures.

“Our objective is to deliver outstanding golf experiences and facilities, designed to optimise a site’s potential, enhance real estate value, create sound communities built around a superb golf core and provide a top-class golf product boasting the best standards, concepts and experiences that can be imagined.”

As well as providing turf and agronomy support to more than 60 clubs within Southeast Asia, The Golf Group’s executives have been involved with golf course planning and development at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club and management, strategy, audits and operations at Bangkok’s Thai Country Club, both Golf Course Facility Members of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

Recently, The Golf Group has secured a Strategy & Management Support Services agreement for the Vattanac Golf Resort in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh, a project of Faldo Design.

Eric Lynge, the AGIF’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We welcome The Golf Group as an Associate Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Chris has brought together an outstanding team of dedicated professionals. We look forward to their participation in our forthcoming club management and turfgrass seminars and summits.”
