Bangkok, Thailand: Gunn Charoenkul, one of Thailand’s most exciting young golfers, has become a client of leading sports marketing agency Lagardère Sports.

Currently enjoying one of the finest seasons of his career on the Japan Golf Tour Organisation, Gunn joins an impressive portfolio of more than 50 Lagardère Sports players which includes American Phil Mickelson and Spaniard Jon Rahm as well as Malaysian Danny Chia and Daniel Chopra from Sweden.

The agency will handle all of his commercial and administrative affairs globally, with the exception of Japan.

The 27-year-old is currently ranked 16th on the Japan Money List and has been in outstanding form, claiming nine top-10 finishes in 16 starts.

“At a time when my game is really coming together, I feel this is the opportune time to sign with an international agency who can really look after my interests away from the golf course. Lagardère Sports will be a great fit for me as I know they have a very strong presence in Asia while they also have a global reach,” said Gunn.

Gunn is a three-time winner on the PGA Tour of China and has claimed five titles in Southeast Asia.

“We have watched Gunn’s career go from strength to strength since he turned professional in 2011. We are excited to be working with him to help him fulfil his potential and go on to great things,” said Patrick Feizal Joyce, Senior Vice President, Golf, Asia, Lagardère Sports, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

Lagardère Sports has been at the forefront of professional golf in Asia for nearly 25 years.

During that time the organisation has been a market leader in the region, running some of Asia’s biggest golf tournaments in terms of television, sponsorship, marketing and event management.

At present, Lagardère Sports handles the SMBC Singapore Open and the Emirates Australian Open. Since the mid-1990s, the company has run over 200 professional tournaments.

Lagardère Sports’ US Golf Division looks after the Safeway Open and Desert Classic on the US PGA Tour.
