Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: TPC Kuala Lumpur has celebrated another feather in its cap as Malaysia’s Best Golf Course at the sixth World Golf Awards.
The award is specifically attributed to the 6,405-metre, par-72 West Course at TPC Kuala Lumpur, a Golf Course Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
Originally opened in 1991, the multi award-winning West Course underwent a total makeover in 2008 and another round of enhancements in 2018 to deliver top-notch playing conditions.
“This is the best of times for TPC Kuala Lumpur! A big credit goes to the golf course team led by our Head of Agronomy, Mohd Nizam Othman, for their relentless hard work and dedication in delivering a world-class golfing experience every time,” said Steven Thielke, Chief Executive Officer of TPC Kuala Lumpur.
TPC Kuala Lumpur’s West Course has gained international recognition by staging PGA Tour and European Tour events that have been graced by many of the world’s leading golfers including Justin Thomas, Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler and Ernie Els.
“It is an exciting milestone for the club thanks to everyone’s support. TPC Kuala Lumpur will continue to promote golf tourism in Malaysia with world-class golfing services and experience,” added Thielke.
Launched in 2014, World Golf Awards winners are selected based on votes cast over an eight-month period by the public and professionals working with the golf industry in more than 100 countries.
Owned by Sime Darby Property, TPC Kuala Lumpur has won a host of accolades in recent years. Since becoming part of the acclaimed TPC Network, TPC Kuala Lumpur has made it into the World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, Top 100 Platinum Golf and Country Clubs of the World and Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia.
