Dubai, United Arab Emirates: John Smart has been appointed to head up TourBest’s activities in the United Arab Emirates.

A group Director with more than 25 years’ experience, Smart has been a frequent visitor to the UAE for the last 10 years and is well known to many of the golf course superintendents in the region.

“Having John permanently based in the UAE will allow TourBest to offer a more complete technical back up to our diverse range of professional solutions to the sports turf industry across the region,” said a spokesperson for TourBest LLC, a supplier of innovative agronomic solutions and a sister company of Indigrow, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

Smart, who will remain a Director of Indigrow, said: “I’m looking forward to settling into life with my family in the UAE and embracing all the region has to offer. Professionally it was an opportunity I’ve been looking at for some time and am thoroughly excited about.”

Smart is also a Director of TourBest’s parent company and has been responsible for growth of the EMEA region.

Smart specialises in ITM programmes and nutrition programmes utilising TourBest’s complete portfolio. A keen and competitive road cyclist and family man, Smart will bring his wife and two young daughters with him to the UAE.

In his new post, he will be assisted by Erwin Ilagan, Agricultural Engineer, and Denver Badillo, Warehouse and Distribution Manager.
