Singapore: Experienced events professional Gwen Ng has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) team.

In the course of more than two decades in the events industry, Singaporean Ng has worked in a variety of roles, incorporating sales and sponsorship, budgeting, project management and execution of marketing and operational aspects of a multitude of B2B and B2C events.

“We’re delighted to welcome Gwen to the Asian Golf Industry Federation,” said Eric Lynge, the AGIF’s Chief Executive Officer.

“These are exciting times for the Federation with a number of new developments in the pipeline. With her specialist expertise and experience, Gwen will undoubtedly be a big asset.”

Ng, who has taken up the post as the AGIF’s Membership & Event Manager, is a degree holder in International Business Management from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland.

She began her exhibition career as Project Executive in Singapore Exhibition Services in 1993 before joining ZD Net as Regional Sales Manager in 1998.

In that position, Ng handled key accounts such as IBM, Microsoft, SAP and Linux for shows in India, Japan, Singapore and Las Vegas.

Following a spell with Hannover Fairs Asia, Ng set up her own events company and managed several mega events for International Enterprises Singapore and other clientele, including Automechanika, Frankfurt; CeBIT, Hannover; CES, Las Vegas and Communicasia for CNET Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.

It was in 2015, that she joined Reed Exhibitions as Assistant Project Director to launch a Sustainability B2C event, Green Living. Ng was both project managing and selling the event to local and international brands.

In total, Ng generated more than S$10 million in revenue for local projects during her time with Reed Exhibitions.

“I have always had a passion for conventions and conferences. I especially enjoy collaborations, developing new partnerships and the conceptualisation and implementation of new projects,” said Ng, who attended last month’s Sustainable Turfgrass Management in Asia and AGIF Turfgrass Management Expo in Pattaya.

“In my role with the Asian Golf Industry Federation, I look forward to being heavily involved with the running of the AGIF’s existing events and with the launch of new events which the AGIF is planning.”

The AGIF is a not-for-profit organisation boasting more than 100 member companies from all areas of the golfing industry.
