Doha, Qatar: Construction of the pitches and stadiums that will be used at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar are well under way.

The BLEC Laser Grader 2400, produced by Redexim, is being used at several of the venues to grade the pitches, including the Al Wakrah Stadium.

“Conditions are very demanding,” said a spokesperson for Redexim, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

After clearing the rocks and levelling the stones, a formation layer of 20 centimetres was created, with a drainage system installed on top.

This is followed by layers of gravel, and sand/soil for respectively a lower and upper rootzone, before the turf can be brought on.

The BLEC Laser Grader 2400 is being used for the accurate levelling of each layer. Each pair of its wheels is controlled independently for dual grading.

“Redexim Charterhouse has become a leader in golf course and turf management equipment. Forging strong relationships with customers, built on trust and respect, is essential to our promise of quality,” said the spokesperson.
