Lawrence, Kansas, United States: The 2019 Golf Industry Show Silent Auction, conducted last month, raised US$123, 037 to benefit the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic organisation of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

While the 2019 Golf Industry Show took place from February 2-7 in San Diego, the Silent Auction continued on-line on www.BiddingForGood.com until February 18.

A total of 348 items were donated to the auction, which ranged from course accessories to irrigation products to autographed memorabilia. The 2019 auction total increased by US$14,000 over 2018.

“Through the generous donations of our industry partners and others, the Silent Auction is able to offer hundreds of items at a fraction of the retail cost,” said Rhett Evans, the GCSAA’s Chief Executive Officer. “Superintendents and others get significant savings while raising funds for the EIFG.”

Proceeds from the auction support programmes and tools that are core to the EIFG – research, education and advocacy – for the benefit of golf course management professionals, golf facilities and the game.

The most popular item sold was a Club Car Carryall 502 utility vehicle, which received the most bids in the auction and sold for US$9,205.
