Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada: The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and Foley United have announced the exclusive sponsorship of the CGSA/Foley United Equipment Technician of the Year Award.
“With the support of Foley United we can give recognition to our equipment technician members who are an integral part of the golf course management profession,” said Kendall Costain, CGSA President. “We are pleased to sign this agreement with Foley United, and thank them for their support of the industry.”
“Foley United believes highly in the value of the technician’s role in the workshop. We know the technician is instrumental in delivering the best end-product to their customer and is a true partner to the superintendent,” said Paul Rauker, President and CEO at Foley United, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
He added: “We at Foley United are proud to sponsor Canada’s Equipment Technician of the Year award which recognises their efforts and results, and we’re very pleased with the opportunity to support this distinguished programme.”
This award recognises the specific achievements of a golf course equipment technician whose performance and contributions to the success of the facility go beyond those that would normally be expected. It is presented to an individual who has contributed to his or her golf facility in a significant way and who has demonstrated professionalism, innovation and a team approach in their work.
The award winner will receive registration to The Canadian 2019 Golf Course Management Conference, round-trip airfare to Calgary, Alberta and four nights’ accommodation at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. In addition, the recipient will receive an Equipment Technician of the Year plaque.
