Toro Extends Canadian Commitment

Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada: The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and The Toro Company have announced Toro’s continued exclusive sponsorship of the CGSA/Toro Assistant Superintendent of the Year (ASOTY) Award.
Toro has committed to sponsoring this award for another three years. This prestigious award recognises the achievements of a CGSA Assistant Superintendent member whose performance and contributions to the success of the facility go above and beyond expectations.
The winner will receive an All Access registration package to the Canadian Golf Course Management Conference (CGCMC), including round-trip airfare to the conference and four nights’ accommodations. Toro will also provide the winner with a VISA gift card for meals and incidental expenses.
In addition, the winner will receive an invitation to The Toro Experience, an exclusive annual education event for Assistant Superintendents hosted at Toro’s World Headquarters in Bloomington, Minneapolis, including round-trip airfare, meals and accommodations during the event.
“This sponsorship is an excellent example of the Toro Company’s support of the Assistant Superintendent position and the integral role they play in golf course management across Canada. Toro continues to provide unique opportunities and support to our members and we are pleased to be able to partner with them,” said Kendall Costain, CGSA President.
“Toro is proud to recognise future industry leaders by providing access to customised education programmes and networking opportunities that will enable, guide and direct their professional development in order to accelerate their career path,” said Randy Harris, Director of Marketing in North America for Toro, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
He added: “As represented by our culture and history, we strongly believe in supporting the golf industry, the CGSA and related industry associations and those who choose to work in the golf industry.”
Nominations are now open for the CGSA/Toro Assistant Superintendent of the Year Award and are being accepted until November 30. The winner will be announced, and award presented, at the 2019 CGCMC in Banff, Alberta.
As part of their Platinum sponsorship, Toro will also sponsor the Gordon Witteveen Award, support the Specialised Learning Workshops during the CGCMC, the Fall Field Day reception and donate to the CGSA Silent Auction.
