Bloomington, Minnesota, United States: Toro has added a new EFI model to the versatile Workman GTX line, ‘providing yet another option to build the perfect utility vehicle’.
Initially available in North America, the new model features a closed-loop EFI system, eliminating the choke for maximum performance and reliable starting. This system continually adjusts the engine calibration for changing weather conditions and altitude, as well as the quality, grade and type of fuel.
That’s a significant advantage – especially for golf courses in areas with higher elevations or colder climates. “No need to feather the choke to get the engine moving on cold mornings; just start it up and go,” says Toro.
Unlike a carbureted or open-loop EFI system (which does not calibrate itself based on combustion feedback or adjust for fuel quality and other factors), the Workman GTX’s closed-loop EFI system has an oxygen sensor that provides continuous feedback on quality of combustion. As a result, the system always delivers the correct amount of fuel and continually checks itself to optimise performance – increasing efficiency for a lower total cost of ownership.
In addition, the new model delivers the same benefits that define the entire Workman GTX line. “These grounds and turf crossover vehicles boast an unequalled combination of comfort, utility and control, thanks to features like the split frame and gimbal joint. This design allows the Workman GTX to articulate on uneven terrain to keep all four wheels safely on the ground,” says Toro.
An automotive-grade rack and pinion steering system also provides exceptional control with minimal steering effort. Coil-over shocks on all four wheels provide a smoother ride. Plus, four-wheel hydraulic disk brakes give the Workman GTX reliable and consistent stopping power with less maintenance.
With over 300 unique configurations available, the Workman GTX is incredibly versatile. Two or four-seat configurations with bench or bucket seats are available, as well as four or six-foot flatbeds and a wide range of options for transporting tools and materials.
