New Imagery Showcases Ernie Els Design’s Malaysian Masterpiece

Johor Bahru, Malaysia: The Els Club Malaysia has introduced a new collection of imagery of its Desaru Coast – Ocean Course, showcasing the vision of mastermind Ernie Els and the beauty of Malaysia’s southernmost tip in the region of Johor Bahru.

The course imagery depicts the three nine-hole loops – The Coast, The Lakes and The Ridge, bringing to life the quality and distinction of each course.
The layout was inspired by four-time Major champion Els, who has built a reputation as one of the world’s pre-eminent designers, imparting in his creations his experience of golf courses from all over the world.
Ernie Els Design is a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
Desaru Coast spans over 3,900 acres of the stunning 17-kilometre of coastline adjacent to the South China Sea. The 45-hole property, which also encompasses the Els and Vijay Singh-designed Valley Course, provides golfers with not only the excellence and quality of an Els-designed layout but also beautiful surrounding in which to relax and world-class facilities to hone their skills.
These include The Els Performance Golf Academy, which is the first of its kind in the region, the Big Easy Bar & Grill and the Café 261 – a relaxed terrace café with golf course views created as an ode to Els’ Open Championship successes.
Stephen Havrilla, the club’s newly-appointed General Manager, said: “It is fantastic to see the development of this course since its opening in 2016. Ernie’s vision for the Desaru Coast has really come to life as the courses continue to mature, offering an immensely entertaining challenge for golfers of all levels.

“We are delighted with the new batch of images that we are able to issue. We think they have captured the essence and beauty of Desaru and are sure will drive a good deal of interest with potential visitors over the coming months.”
Easily accessible via road, air and sea, the Troon-managed destination is growing in popularity with the introduction of a series of luxury hotel brands.
In close proximity to the golf courses and sharing the pristine setting of Desaru Coast are the Aman Resorts & Villas, The Westin Desaru Resort, Anantara Desaru Resort and Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast. Guests can also enjoy the local water parks and culture as part of their adventure.
