Siem Reap, Cambodia: Golfers from around the region will be aiming to end the remarkable winning streak of cousins
Amish Jaitha and
Khusaal Thackersey at this year’s Angkor 4-Ball Championship.
Triumphant on each of the three occasions the event has been staged at Angkor Golf Resort, the Indian duo are expected to bid for a ‘four-peat’ when the annual event takes place from April 6-8.
David Baron, the club’s Director of Golf, said limited spaces remain for the tournament that is held at the acclaimed Faldo Design layout, a Golf Course Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
“The pairs format is very well received with the players perhaps feeling a little less pressure when compared to a singles stroke play event where every shot counts,” said Baron.
“This, combined with the hospitality that is laid on and the camaraderie between competitors, makes the event very popular with players around the region and as far afield as Australia and the United Kingdom.”
Format for the Heineken-sponsored event is fourball better ball. Played in teams of two, the best score on each hole is counted. Prizes are awarded in both gross and net categories.
Special stay and play packages are available at either the four-star Royal Crown Resort or five-star Victoria Angkor Resort.
