Maredo’s MT200 Flex-Verticutter.
Sunshine Coast, Australia: Maredo made its mark at the 33rd annual Australian Golf Course Superintendents’ Association (AGCSA) Australian Turfgrass Conference and Trade Exhibition.
The Dutch company took the opportunity to introduce its MT200 Flex-Verticutter and the MT210 VibeSpike-Aerator in Australia for the first time.
“There was a lot of interest in the products,” said
Marinus Reincke, Founder of Maredo, an Associate Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
Following the show, Maredo undertook its first Australian demo with the MT series at the Beerwah Golf Club, nestled at the base of the Sunshine Coast’s Glasshouse Mountains.
“It was impressive to see how the mechanically driven MT heads did a great job on the couch turf of their fairways,” said Reincke.
All MT 200 Flex-Verticutter heads are mechanically driven and can easily follow undulations. The machine can be used for a shallow cut (verticut) or a deeper cut (scarifying). It is able to remove a lot of material under many different conditions.
The MT210 VibeSpike-Aerator, meanwhile, is a heavy-duty head which punches holes in the ground up to 70 mm deep using vibration.
The VibeSpike-Aerator uses the same innovative technology as other spikers in the Maredo range. The rolling spike sections vibrate due to the driven central cam shaft. This vibration makes the spikes hammer into the soil, cracking the soil and leaving a nice clean hole when retracted.
