Marbella, Spain: Plans are well under way for the ninth European Conference on Club Management.
Brought back by popular demand from the members of the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE), the conference will be held at the H10 Andalucia Hotel in Marbella from November 26-28.
The conference will have a full schedule of education sessions based around the CMAE’s 10 core competencies of modern club management and will feature speakers on demand-led subject matters pertinent to active club managers.
Opening the conference will be Spain’s Javier Reviriego, Chief Executive of Real Club Valderrama, who will speak on how his team delivers club management excellence.
Conference delegates will have the exclusive chance to visit Real Club Valderrama for lunch and play nine holes on the famous championship course on November 28.
Organisers expect to announce a keynote speaker next month for the Monday evening Gala Dinner along with confirming other speakers on various topics crucial to improving operational and governance skills for managers of city, golf and sports clubs across Europe.
CMAE President Marc Newey said: “Last year our members asked us to revive the European Conference and there is nowhere better than Marbella to stage it. We wanted to build upon the tremendous success of our management development programmes – 52 delivered to date – and create more networking and social opportunities for our membership to enjoy.
“The Andalucia Hotel is an excellent venue and to be able to play the back nine of the iconic Ryder Cup course at Valderrama will be a great way to conclude the conference.”
