Singapore: Wang Jeung-hun has completed a rare double by being named as the Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month for November.
Having been voted as the fans’ choice in May, the Korean underlined his status as one of the region’s rising stars with another spectacular performance last month.
During November, he finished second behind Alex Noren at the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player, and tied 17th alongside Ross Fisher at the European Tour’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Wang also claimed the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year title following a remarkable season in Europe.
In May he set a host of records with back-to-back wins at the Trophée Hassan II and AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
“It has been a fantastic year for me and this award from Hilton makes it even more special. I’m already looking forward to 2017 and cannot wait to tee up and compete for more honours,” said Wang.
The Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month award is one of the partnership initiatives aimed at recognising outstanding efforts of Asian Tour members both at home and abroad.
The online voting contest to determine the monthly winner engages golf fans as they vote for their favourite golfer through the Asian Tour’s media channels, culminating with fans voting for the Asian Tour Hilton Golfer of the Year at the end of 2016.
Besides casting their vote for their favourite player on the Asian Tour, fans, who log onto www.asiantour.hiltongolf.com also stand a chance to win a one night stay at any Hilton property of their choice.
Hilton Worldwide is a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
