Paul Peterson has been named as the Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month for August.
Peterson was the clear fan favourite after he became the latest Asian Tour member to win on the European Tour with his victory at the D+D REAL Czech Masters.
The left-hander traded seven birdies against two bogeys for a final round five-under-par 67 and a 15-under-par 273 total to defeat defending champion
Thomas Pieters of Belgium by a single shot at the Albatross Golf Resort.
“This award means a lot to me as it is a result of all the hard work that I’ve put in. The challenge will continue to be tougher but I look forward to it. Thank you to all those who voted for me,” said Peterson, who became the eighth Asian Tour member to win on the European Tour this season.
The Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month award is one of the partnership initiatives aimed at recognising outstanding efforts of Asian Tour members both at home and abroad.
The online voting contest to determine the monthly winner engages golf fans as they vote for their favourite golfer through the Asian Tour’s media channels, culminating with fans voting for the Asian Tour Hilton Golfer of the Year at the end of 2016.
Besides casting their vote for their favourite player on the Asian Tour, fans who log onto
www.asiantour.hiltongolf.com also stand a chance to win a one night stay at any Hilton property of their choice.
Peterson won the award ahead of Korean-American
David Lipsky and Australian
Marcus Fraser. The trio were nominated by a selection panel before going into a voting process.
